The Coca-Cola Company

HIV/AIDS

We acknowledge the role we have in limiting the spread and effects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic among our associates and their communities. While HIV/AIDS is a global problem, more than 70 percent of those infected live in Africa.

Since 2002, The Coca-Cola Company has worked with our independent bottling partners to provide a comprehensive, continent-wide HIV/AID S prevention and treatment program for the more than 60,000 Coca-Cola system associates in Africa, their spouses and their children. This effort is managed by doctors and health professionals on the ground and is funded by an annual allocation from The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation. The program is the largest single program of its kind in Africa. It combines prevention, awareness and treatment.including free condoms, confidential voluntary counseling, and testing for associates and their dependents. Antiretroviral drugs are made freely available to all who need them.

We have also expanded our workplace efforts by initiating associate HIV/AIDS education programs in China, India and Russia.
